Caregiver support

Navigating work and personal demands can be all the more challenging for those caregiving for a loved one. The EAP offers Caregiver Support designed to provide helpful resources and establish connections among the caregivers within the MCPS community. Speaker presentations are held virtually on a monthly basis. Speakers present on important educational topics related to caring for a loved one. The Caregiver Support Group is open to MCPS employees, MCPS retirees, and their adult household members. Interested in receiving emails about the Caregiver Support Group? All educational presentations take place online and most will be recorded for later viewing. 

  • Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 5:00–6:00 p.m.: Eldercare Strategies. Learn about long-term care, activities of daily living, and planning for long-term care during this webinar with the Foundation for Financial Education (F3E). Learn about research-backed guidance on brain health, ways to protect your memory and thinking for the future, and how to reduce your risk of cognitive decline or dementia in this webinar with the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter.   • Wednesday, November 18, 2026 from 4:00–5:00 p.m.: Dementia Friends. Join the EAP for a Dementia Friends Information Session to learn more about Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia, communication tips, and creating dementia-friendly physical spaces.
