MCPS is implementing a six-region high school center program model beginning in 2027–28 to expand access, increase opportunities, and ensure all students have additional high-quality programs closer to home.

The regional model offers 5 program themes available in all regions beginning in 2027-2028. Each theme offers various programs such as cybersecurity, theater, critical language and many more.

MCPS will use six regions to provide thematic offerings to students to expand access and to offer programs closer to home. Each region will offer a combination of Center programs within all themes including both criteria and interest-based programs.
