Online Digital Tools

Empowering Future-Ready Graduates Through Purposeful Innovation

Our Commitment to MCPS Families: In alignment with the MCPS Strategic Plan 2025–2030, technology in Montgomery County Public Schools is never a substitute for real-world connection or teacher-led instruction; instead, it serves as an essential bridge to college and career readiness.

Every digital tool approved for our classrooms undergoes a thorough evaluation to ensure it directly supports our commitment to MCPS’s Future Ready Framework and prioritizes high-quality instructional materials that follow all local, state, and federal guidelines for data privacy and security as well as accessibility standards. By maintaining these uncompromising standards, we protect our students today while intentionally equipping them for tomorrow.

MCPS is committed to intentional, high-quality digital learning that promotes healthy screen time balance.

Technology should never replace face-to-face, active instruction; rather, digital tools are selected to elevate learning with intention, enhance student engagement, and support diverse learning needs without leading to excessive device exposure.

All online digital tools must pass centralized vetting for the following before use:

  • Instructional Alignment: Audited by the Division of Teaching and Learning for pedagogical value
  • Data Privacy: Review of compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding data privacy and security
  • Accessibility: Evaluated for accessibility per Section 508 and Website Content Accessibility Standards (WCAG) 2.1

What is a digital tool?

MCPS defines digital tools in accordance with Maryland's Equivalent Access for Students with Disabilities (Md. Code, Educ. § 7-910)
