MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

In honor of two young Montgomery County residents who lost their lives to illicit fentanyl, Michael Pisarra and Matthew Loudoun, the Maryland State’s Attorney’s Office of Montgomery County hosts an annual contest that challenges middle and high school students to create an original video to promote awareness of the dangers of opioid abuse or overdose and fentanyl among teens.

“67 Saves Lives” by Allison Shaw and Ashalina Haque from Seneca Valley High School
“Holes Cannot Be Filled” by Max Kander and Mason Smolar from Newport Mill Middle School
Students engaged in workshops on opioid prevention, Narcan training, and hear the announcement of the Speak Up, Save A Life PSA Contest winners.
All student participants earned 3 SSL hours and received a Narcan kit.
Submission form will be available on January 20, 2026
