High Incidence Accessible Technology (HIAT)

HIAT is a collaborative team of creative, empathetic and passionate learners and innovators who inspire growth mindsets, out-of-the-box thinking, and data-driven decision making. We build MCPS’ capacity to utilize accessible and assistive technology through coaching, the creation of collaborative partnerships and resources, and facilitation of professional learning grounded in a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) mindset. Our work supports the vision of the Physical Disabilities Programs to create inclusive and accessible learning environments that empower students to succeed in their education, career, and valued adult life roles. We believe the world can be different so we champion the creation of accessible, responsive and empowering learning environments for all students.
