Mrs. Kaplan - Media Specialist
![]() |
Hello! My name is Marybeth Kaplan and this is my 15th year as a Media Specialist in MCPS and my 11th year as Media Specialist at Oak View Elementary School. I grew up in Michigan which is the Great Lake State and it is also called the Mitten because of its shape. After high school I went to Hope College in Holland, Michigan and studied Spanish and Political Science. I went to graduate school at the University of Maryland (Go Terps!) and got a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science so I could be your school librarian/media specialist. When I am not at school I like to play tennis, pickleball, go on bike rides, and of course, read books! Send an email: mary_e_kaplan@mcpsmd.org. |
Media Assistant-Mrs. Lautenberger
This is my seventh year as a Media Assistant at Oak View ES. Being able to help the students find books to further explore every interest and curiosity is my passion. I love reading, teaching and technology. We hope that the Destiny Collections will support you with appropriate resources both in school and virtually. When I am not at school, I spend time with my family, enjoying gardening, skiing, sailing, and READING books! Contact me here and let me know what good books you have been reading: diana_l_lautenberger@mcpsmd.org.
