Calendar Reminders
Upcoming calendar reminders:
- Auditions for Descendants, the musical, are on Tuesday, December 8th, and Thursday, December 11th. Students who audition will need to do both the dance and vocal audition. Dance auditions will be this Tuesday, December 8th, in the cafeteria right after school at 4:30 p.m. The vocal auditions will be held on Wednesday, December 10th, and Thursday, December 11th. Every auditioner must fill out the audition form here to be cast, and every crew member must fill out the crew interest form in order to participate. - Families of future Bobcats! Ridgeview Middle School will host a Course Registration Information Meeting for rising 6th-grade students and families on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. virtually via Zoom. If school is closed due to inclement weather, the backup date is Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The purpose of this meeting is to learn about the different course offerings and the process that you will use to register your rising 6th-grade student for courses at RMS. You will also have the opportunity to hear a little bit about what middle school is like at RMS. Caregivers are welcome to have their rising 6th grader join the meeting. Throughout the week of December 8th, RMS counselors will be visiting elementary school classes to talk to students about the different elective course offerings and the process for registering. If you have any questions about this meeting, please reach out to Mrs. Christine Rizkallah, Assistant Principal at RMS.
- Come out to support the Ridgeview Music Department on Tuesday, December 9th, and Wednesday, December 10th, for our Winter Concerts. Advanced Ensembles (level 2 and 3) will perform on Tuesday, and Beginning/Intermediate Ensembles (level 1) will perform on Wednesday. Both concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Ridgeview gymnasium and are free of charge! Come hear some incredible music by our talented students!
- Picture makeup day is Wednesday, December 10th. Pre-order your child's photos today by going to LifeTouch. Use Picture Day ID: EVTFHJGG7.
- Ridgeview PTSA is helping our amazing Bobcat Boutique team to collect items for a Holiday Shop. The Holiday Shop allows Ridgeview families to come in and pick out gifts and necessities to take home to their families for the holidays. Please consider dropping off clothing items or small gifts to school by Friday, December 12th, or sign up for specific donation requests.
- 12/15 Staff Appreciation Cookie Exchange
- Tuesday, December 16th to Thursday, November 18th, there will only be two (2) activity buses running. All drop-off routes will still be serviced between both buses. Please be patient as you wait for your child, as it will mean a later drop-off time.
- The Bob Bucks store will be open during all grade level lunches on Tuesday, December 16th.
- We will have the MAP-M (Math) on Tuesday, December 16, and the MAP-R (Reading) on Thursday, December 18, 2025. We will have a modified bell schedule where testing will occur 8:15 a.m. - 10:10 a.m., and students will be able to go to all seven periods 10:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- 12/17 CNO at Chick-Fil-A Kentlands from 5-8pm (supports Outdoor Ed)
- Interims will be distributed via USPS on Friday, December 19th, 2025, for Marking period 2.

Testing Updates
Winter MAP Testing will begin in December. MAP Growth is a computer-adaptive test created by NWEA that kids take two to three times per school year. The results provide teachers with information to help them deliver appropriate content for each student and determine each student’s academic growth over time. We will have the MAP-M (Math) on Tuesday, December 16, and the MAP-R (Reading) on Thursday, December 18, 2025. We will have a modified bell schedule where testing will occur 8:15 a.m. - 10:10 a.m., and students will be able to go to all seven periods 10:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
To ensure all students are well-prepared for the upcoming Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) Mathematics assessment scheduled for Tuesday, April 28th, and Wednesday, April 29th, all math classes will begin implementing weekly MCAP practice sessions.
