Happening This Week!

  • Monday, February 2 - Non-Instructional Day (No School)
  • Tuesday, February 3 – 2 Hour Delay
  • Wednesday, February 4 – Regular Bell Schedule 
  • Thursday, February 5 – Regular Bell Schedule 
  • Friday, February 6 – Regular Bell Schedule 

Start of New Semester

Students are able to access their Second Semester Schedule in StudentVue.  Students need to see their counselor if:

  • There is no class assigned for a class period
  • Has already received the credit for a course that is in their schedule
  • The class is not needed for graduation or completion of program.

Counselors will be available in the Counseling Suite for students who may need support in making changes.

Congratulations to the Kennedy student publication, Voices, on their First Class recognition for Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) contest.  See the group's achievement here, and be sure to check out the publication by clicking below.

Students and parents/guardians will receive notification in the document section in both StudentVue and ParentVue the week of January 20th to review the legal name to ensure it is spelled correctly. If the name is accurately represented on the notification, then no action is required. If a change is requested, the student must see our registrar, Ms. AnneMarie Walker by Friday, March 6th.

Students may choose the way in which they would prefer their name on the diploma. Please note the options available:

  • Full legal name
  • Legal name without middle name
  • Legal name with only middle initial

Open Nominations for the 2026 Hall of Fame

Kennedy High School is looking for nominations for this year’s Hall of Fame class! Please take a minute to complete this form to add in, your nominee.

Student Opportunities

  • Choose Respect Video Contest: Open to secondary students, this contest challenges teens to create an original video promoting awareness of dating violence/abuse among teens. Videos can be in English or Spanish. Top prize is $1,000. Deadline: Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026.
  • America’s Field Trip: This contest invites students in grades 3-12 to submit writing or artwork in sharing their perspectives on what America means to them — and earn the opportunity to travel for field trip experiences at historic and cultural landmarks. Deadline: March 30, 2026.

  • Seeking High School Election Workers: This Montgomery County Board of Elections program provides students with an opportunity to serve voters during the 2026 Gubernatorial Elections in June 2026. Students registered to vote can submit an application. Students not registered to vote should download, complete and mail these three forms: Maryland Voter Registration, Election Worker Application and Permission Slip (for workers under 18 years old).
