Weekly Update

Dear Farmland Families,

I want to share an important update regarding our Assistant Principal position. Earlier this summer, I communicated that Ms. Christine Tilkens, the Assistant Principal at Rachel Carson Elementary, would be joining our Farmland community. However, due to some recent staffing changes at Rachel Carson, Ms. Tilkens will be remaining in her current position there.

With that said, I am thrilled to announce that Pamela Strauss has been selected as the new Assistant Principal at Farmland Elementary School!

Pam brings to this role a deep commitment to collaborative leadership, a passion for instructional excellence, and a steady belief in the potential of every student and staff member. Whether guiding teams, supporting students, or mentoring educators, Pam leads with both heart and clarity — and always with children at the center.

She has already made a meaningful impact at Farmland through her role as our Staff Development Teacher. Her leadership has been evident in classrooms, planning meetings, and professional learning experiences. As Assistant Principal, she will continue to support our school with the same grace, thoughtfulness, and high expectations that help a school not only grow but thrive.

As you may remember,  Mrs. Khraima Wilson will be joining our administrative team as an Assistant Principal as well. That means next school year, we will have two Assistant Principals, Mrs. Khraima Wilson and Mrs. Pamela Strauss, supporting our students, staff, and families. You will have the opportunity to meet them both as we begin the school year, and we are thrilled to have them as part of the Farmland leadership team.

We look forward to an exciting year ahead and are confident that with this strong leadership team in place, Farmland will continue to thrive.

Warmly,

April
