School and Community News:
Male students in Grades 4-12 are invited to attend the 2026 Spring Game Changer Conference for Young Males from 8 a.m.–noon on Saturday, April 25, at Montgomery College, Germantown Campus. Registration closes Monday, April 20. Register. Tailored for African American and minority students, the conference is designed to build social-emotional wellness and confidence.
Burtonsville Elementary Career Day – May 1st, 2026!
Burtonsville's Career Day, taking place on Friday, May 1st, 2026. This special event gives our students the opportunity to explore the many different career paths available to them and to hear from inspiring professionals in our community.
We’re looking for parents, friends, and community members who would be willing to share their unique career journeys with our students.

2026–2027 Kindergarten: Kindergarten registration is being held online through the ParentVUE portal. Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2026 are eligible. If your family is new to MCPS, you will need to create a ParentVue account here.
2026–2027 Prekindergarten and Head Start Enrollment: Free prekindergarten is available to income-eligible families with children who will be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2026. Prekindergarten and Head Start registration is happening online or in-person at community locations during March.

Important Fair Dates:
Set-Up: Apr 24 | 3:30PM–6:30PM
Book Fair: April 27– May 1 | 9AM–4PM
Family Night: April 29 | 4PM–7PM
Take-Down: May 1 | 4PM–6PM
We’re looking for volunteers to help with setup, sales, student support, and clean-up.
